Dreadholm Studios ("we," "us," or "our") operates the online game Dreadholm and the website dreadholm.com. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

- Steam ID (provided via Steam authentication)
- Character names and in-game progress (level, inventory, quests, skills, gold)
- Account creation date

- IP address (logged for security and anti-abuse purposes)
- Connection timestamps
- Client version
1.3 In-Game Data
- Chat messages (temporarily stored for moderation purposes)
- Player reports and moderation actions
- Gameplay activity (zone transitions, trades, combat logs) for debugging and balancing
1.4 Data We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect your real name, email address, phone number, or payment information. All purchases are handled entirely through Steam — we never see or store your payment details.
2. How We Use Your Data
We use collected data to:
- Authenticate your identity and maintain your game account
- Provide and improve the game service
- Enforce our Terms of Service and prevent abuse (cheating, harassment, exploits)
- Diagnose technical issues and server errors
- Balance game systems using aggregate gameplay data
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
3. Data Storage and Security
- Account and character data is stored in a secured database hosted on cloud infrastructure.
- Access to game servers and databases is restricted to authorized Dreadholm Studios personnel.
- Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. We cannot see or recover your password.
- We retain account data for as long as your account exists. Chat logs are retained for a limited period for moderation purposes and then deleted.
4. Third-Party Services
- Steam (Valve Corporation): We use Steam for authentication and distribution. Your use of Steam is governed by Valve's privacy policy at https://store.steampowered.com/privacy_agreement/
- Cloud hosting providers: Our servers run on cloud infrastructure. These providers process data on our behalf under data processing agreements but do not have independent access to your game data.
5. Your Rights
5.1 Access
You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
5.2 Deletion
You may request deletion of your account and all associated data. This action is permanent and cannot be undone. Character names will be released.
5.3 Correction
You may request correction of inaccurate personal data.
5.4 Data Portability
You may request your data in a machine-readable format.

6. Children's Privacy
Dreadholm is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete that data promptly.

Our servers are located in the United States. If you access the game from outside the United States, your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the game, you consent to this transfer.
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or other regions with data protection laws: you have the rights described in Section 5, including the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
