These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Dreadholm ("the Game"), operated by Dreadholm Studios ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or playing the Game, you agree to these Terms.

1. Account

1.1. You must have a valid Steam account to play Dreadholm. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Steam account.

1.2. You may create multiple characters, but each character name must be unique and must not contain offensive, hateful, or impersonating language. We reserve the right to force-rename characters that violate this rule.

1.3. You are responsible for all activity on your account. Do not share your account with others.

1.4. Accounts are non-transferable. You may not sell, trade, or give away your account or any in-game items/currency for real-world money or value.

2. License

2.1. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and play the Game for personal, non-commercial use.

2.2. You do not own your account, characters, items, currency, or any other in-game content. All game content is the property of Dreadholm Studios. Your license can be revoked at any time in accordance with these Terms.

2.3. The Game is provided as an ongoing service. We make no guarantee of perpetual availability, uptime, or continued development.

3. Code of Conduct

You agree not to:

3.1. Cheat or exploit — Use hacks, bots, automation software, packet manipulation, or exploit bugs to gain an unfair advantage. If you discover a bug or exploit, report it to us.

3.2. Harass other players — Engage in hate speech, threats, sexual harassment, stalking, doxxing, or sustained targeted abuse of any kind.

3.3. Spam or disrupt — Flood chat, advertise, impersonate staff, or intentionally disrupt other players' experience.

3.4. Real-money trade (RMT) — Buy, sell, or trade in-game items, currency, or accounts for real-world money or value outside of officially supported systems.

3.5. Reverse engineer — Decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer, or modify the Game client or server, or create derivative works.

3.6. Interfere with the service — Attack, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to our servers or other players' accounts.

4. Enforcement

4.1. We may, at our sole discretion, take action against accounts that violate these Terms, including but not limited to: warnings, temporary suspension, permanent bans, character deletion, or item/currency removal.

4.2. We are not required to provide advance notice or a detailed explanation for enforcement actions, though we will make reasonable efforts to do so.

4.3. Enforcement decisions are final. We may consider appeals on a case-by-case basis but are not obligated to reverse any action.

5. Virtual Items and Currency

5.1. In-game items, currency, characters, and all other virtual goods are part of the Game service and are not your property. They have no real-world monetary value.

5.2. We may modify, nerf, buff, remove, or rebalance any game content — including items you have obtained — at any time for game health, balance, or technical reasons.

5.3. If the Game shuts down, all virtual items and progress will cease to exist. No compensation or refund will be provided for virtual goods.

6. User-Generated Content

6.1. Any content you create within the Game (character names, chat messages, etc.) must comply with the Code of Conduct.

6.2. By creating content within the Game, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, and moderate that content as part of operating the Game.

7. Service Availability

7.1. The Game is an online service that requires an internet connection. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access.

7.2. We may perform maintenance, updates, patches, or take the service offline at any time, with or without notice.

7.3. We may modify, update, or discontinue any aspect of the Game at any time, including features, content, and system requirements.

8. Early Access / Beta

8.1. The Game may be offered in Early Access or beta form. During this period, the Game is under active development and may contain bugs, incomplete features, data resets, or significant changes.

8.2. Participation in Early Access does not guarantee any specific features, content, or timeline for full release.

9. Limitation of Liability

9.1. The Game is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

9.2. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Dreadholm Studios shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Game, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of virtual items, or interruption of service.

9.3. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or the Game shall not exceed the amount you paid to Dreadholm Studios in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $50 USD, whichever is greater.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Dreadholm Studios and its personnel from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your violation of these Terms or your use of the Game.

11. Dispute Resolution
